BLACK ARE CHAMPIONS... JON SINGS THEME SONG AGAIN....

The Black team captured the title by beating the white team 21-17. Black, led by the big four, Von, Vincent, Hans and Chris "Agent Zero" plus super sub Kenneth became the first champions in the newly renovated NEGA basketball court.

The white team took an early 4-0 lead but the black team came back and led 10-7 in the first half. Super sub Kenneth was unstoppable, scoring with an assortment of moves from mid range jumpers to undergoals. Black team slowed down the game in the first half and settled for half court sets as they were still showing signs of fatigued from just playing a tightly contested game against the Red team. The white team were not able to take advantage of the 1 game rest that they had, as they were not able to run against a tired black team.

Start of the second half saw the black team run out to a 16-9 lead and with a few minutes to go. Von heard white captain and inspirational leader Jon saying "TALO NA TAYO" (SABAY KAMOT SA ULO!!!). But Jon fought back by hitting a couple of baskets to rally his team back but it was too little too late.

Notes: Jon promise to sing a new song after the playoffs "WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS" but again Jon sings to his old and familiar song.... "I did my best, but my best was not good enough..."


Other Games:

First game saw the White team beat the gray team with ease. Xerxes and Carter dominated the game with their power inside.

In the western conference, The Red team with super sub Kenneth beat the highly favored Blue team who was missing Lester for the night.

For the semifinal games. The defending champions Green team was out of sync the whole game and could not find there rhythm and they eventually bowed to the energized white team. Lerwin was late for the game, the white team took an early lead by pounding the ball inside.

In the other semifinals game, the Black team needed overtime and the help of Alen to beat the Red team. Game was tightly contested. Von had a chance to win it in regulation but miss a desperation shot from the right wing. In the overtime period, both teams tried to end the game quickly by taking three pointers. Black team missed on their first two attempts. PJ almost won the game for the red team but his shot rim off. Then Alen with hit the game winning shot by hitting a running 3 pointer from the left wing.
